This volume came to the bindery in a pile of torn and damaged pages. Each page was flattened and repaired where required. Great care was taken to replace the pages back into the correct order as over time the pile of pages had become mixed up.
Once the paper was conserved the pages were sewn and the book was re-backed using a similar colour cloth. This meant we could keep as much of the original material but give the volume a new lease of life for the next generation of the clients family.
