Rebound Journals in half bound leather

This project involved creating a set of new bindings consisting of multiple journals which were sewn together, rounded and half bound with cloth sides. It was a little challenging finding the correct match of materials from the sample binding as this was completed 10 years previously.

The clients wanted a match to the previous bindings he had commissioned so great care was taken to replicate the spine pattern to ensure the raised bands, blind tooliong and lettering lined up when the books were next to each other on the shelf.

Bookends Bindery primarily conserves books and paper but are always happy to bind new items. All processes are still done by hand.
